COGNICA's experience in the Water Industry has also been exploited by other Utility companies:
COGNICA has, for a number of years, provided the Manx Electricity Authority with an accessible electronic operation and maintenance manual service for the key Pulrose Power Station. The documents are delivered via COGNICA's NaviGo system which allows MEA to comment on, and to edit, content.
Following organisational changes, COGNICA is now involved in the migration of the NaviGo system to a Microsoft SharePoint platform.
In support of a document access improvement project at the Keadby Power Station, near Scunthorpe, COGNICA has completed a detailed audit of site drawings. The audit identified which hard copy drawings were present and absent from the site Drawing Management System. The audit also allowed the Drawing Management System to be updated with additional drawing details.
COGNICA has developed an O&M register for Centrica, on the Microsoft SharePoint platform, for the Glen's of Foundland Wind farm. COGNICA collated and indexed all available documents for the site and then uploaded them to the register. The task required collation of both paper and electronic documents and involved comparative reviews of the available documents to avoid duplication in the system.
